The Concept of Kitchen

Over 98% of the homes in the United States have cooking ranges, but in a poll from April 2023, a whopping 56% of people have said that they struggle cooking the most basic meals. The truth is, cooking does take practice and time, but instead of thinking of it as something we need to taste good - take those chances - and each poorly tasting recipe revision might just set you up for a generational recipe.
The main cause of evolutionary changes surround cooking and nutrition, but most importantly were created through the domestication of plants and animals. Did you know that four of the most common hereditary changes surrounding diet have been located on our chromosomes. Over time scientists have observed these four are: metabolism, sensory perception, appetite control, and development of the digestive system. Analysis on the molecular level have confirmed adaptations made from various dietary regimes, and even can pin point loci on the chromosomes of exact hereditary changes. How much longer can the source of the major obesity epidemic in America continue to live on?

The kitchen is truly a sacred place to nourish our body and brain. Before the concept of an indoor or even outdoor home kitchen that we know of now, most of these practices were enjoyed together outside around a fire, mountain, streams - places of energy and collaboration. This is where cooking practices can be shared through generations. In the modern day, we often have one partner do the cooking to optimize time management. Although this does solve the problem of time management, this shuts closed the opportunity of collaboration and story telling, which could be analogous to learning how to cook from a peer.
How much time do you spend, loosely following recipes, creating flavorful experiences, or fine tuning new creations? This idea has been bargained with for fast food convenience. Where the issues lies in, is we as a society are consuming more volume of food, with less actual nourishment to save time, that we will never be getting back.
